WAYNE – Junior high and high school students from more than 60 schools across the tri-state region will be in Wayne America this weekend for the Festival of Honor Bands concert.
According to a release from Wayne State College, the annual concert will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 4:30 p.m. from Ramsey Theatre in the Peterson Fine Arts Building.
The Department of Music at Wayne State College will host this day-long festival where students will represent schools from Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska. Cost to attend the concert is $5.
Students will audition for participation in the festival as they’ll rehearse throughout most of the day with one of three clinicians in preparation for the concert. This year’s clinicians include Jim Kucera from Waverly middle school, Chad Dean from O’Neill high school and Dr. Josh Calkin from Wayne State College. The festival is an exciting opportunity for students to learn and develop musical talent.
