Fall Career Fair At Full Capacity For Students Looking To Step Into The Job Market

WAYNE – Over 90 businesses and recruiters were on the campus of Wayne State College for their fall career fair.

Inside the Kanter Student Center, students graduating soon or first-year students attended the 2019 WSC Fall Career Fair hosted by Career Services.

Director of Career Services, Jason Barelman said the career fair is a great place for students to come and see what opportunities are available.

“Even if students are going to be going onto grad school, we have several graduate programs here as well,” said Barelman. “So, there’s really something for everyone, they might just have to dig a little bit to find out which companies might hire somebody with their major.”

Barelman recently started her 27th year at WSC on October 5.

Career Services at Wayne State assists with starting the job search while helping with resumes and cover letters or just to find an internship.

“We talk to students all the time about their job search,” Barelman added. “We want them to come in and visit with us and just to help them to get started with the job search. If they’re weren’t able to come today (Wednesday), we can certainly connect them with some of the representatives that are here today (Wednesday).”

The 2020 Spring Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The career fair in the spring is usually a little bit smaller with business anxious to find employees, recruiting heavy in the fall. There’ll still be opportunities to visit with employers in the spring if students missed out Wednesday.

Stop by the Career Services office between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday located inside the Kanter Student Center (Room 101). Call 402-375-7425 or email careerservices@wsc.edu for more information.
