Faith Regional Health Services Announces New Electronic Records System

NORFOLK – Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk announced their plans to implement a new electronic medical records system that hospital officials say will improve patient outcomes, cut down on the number of questions providers needs to ask and make your medical records available on your smart phone or computer.

The system, known as “EPIC” is being purchased through the buying power of Nebraska Medicine in Omaha together with other independently owned hospitals in the state.

Faith Regional CEO Mark Klosterman said the money saved by partnering on the system “ensures we get the best value while saving money and continuing to find new ways to work with other organizations such as Nebraska Medicine to fulfill our long-term strategy and vision to remain a strong, independently owned system, with a healthy future.

Dr. Dan DeBehnke, CEO of Nebraska Medicine said, “It’s another example of how Faith Regional and Nebraska Medicine can collaborate to provide a better patient experience for the people of northeast and north central Nebraska, while still allowing them to receive care from the providers they know and trust. We support Faith Regional and its position to remain a thriving, locally-owned, independent organization now and into the future.”

The EPIC system will be implemented over the next 18 months and will be used at all Faith Regional Health Services and Physician Services clinics.
