Fairbury’s Prairie View Industries to be featured on Lifetime’s ‘Designing Spaces’ Thursday

FAIRBURY – Prairie View Industries, a Fairbury-based ramp manufacturer, will be on national television this week.

The company had an opportunity to be a part of the show ‘Designing Spaces’ on the Lifetime channel.

The episode that features PVI focuses on the renovation of the Oscar Mike Foundation home – a place where wounded veterans can train and participate in extreme sports.

The home is located in Poplar Grove, Illinois.

With so much being done at the Oscar Mike home, they needed wheelchair access to the front door, and had other ramp needs around the house.

In late 2018, Lifetime’s ‘Designing Spaces’ put in a call to PVI in Fairbury after finding the company through an internet search.

By late April 2019, the company flew out to do measurements, and drove up with supplies about a month later.

The Oscar Mike Foundation is a non-profit that provides support to injured veterans who are looking for an opportunity to stay active. Oscar Mike mainly focuses on the arena of adaptive sports.

Shawn Krupicka, the Sales Manager at Prairie View Industries, says it was an honor for his company to help support wounded veterans. He also said it’s a rare opportunity for a local company to shine on the national stage.

“We love helping people with handicapped needs,” Krupicka said. “It’s a great feeling to be a part of that. To be in a small town like Fairbury, it’s pretty cool to be a part of something that’s nationwide. And worldwide. We sell (our products) worldwide.”

The episode will air on Lifetime on Thursday morning at 6 a.m., so set your DVR if you’re not an early riser.

Krupicka said the episode will be on the ‘Designing Spaces’ website after it airs.
