WAYNE – Community members visited with the Wayne County Fairboard Friday morning during a weekly Chamber Coffee event put on by the Wayne Area Economic Development office.
Inside the fair office on the Wayne County Fairgrounds weekend events were previewed, according to board president Kevin Davis.
“All day Friday we’ll be setting up for the BBQ and we got the big tractor pull coming in Friday night,” said Davis. “So, that kind of takes care of that and with all of the 4-H events going on all day long and FFA; lots of stuff going on.”
Davis also mentioned it’s nice to have the Chamber and community members out on the fairgrounds.
Friday’s highlighted events will be the 57th annual BBQ from 6 – 7:30 p.m. and the dual track, tractor pull starting around 6:30 p.m. Friday night in the grandstand.
The fair office can be reached by calling 402-375-5531.
Members with the Wayne County Fairboard were also introduced Friday morning.
“Yeah with our fair board, a bunch of good special guys you work with,” Davis added. “There’s 15 of us on the board then we got Diane Roeber as our secretary and Dave Ley as the treasurer. So, it takes people like that to make a show like this go.”
One of the popular events, Wildlife encounter shows are scheduled for 3/5/7 p.m. Friday night; at 11 a.m./2/4:30 p.m. Saturday and again Sunday at 1/3:30 p.m. in the kid zone behind the food court.
