BROKEN BOW–At 6:21 p.m. on Friday evening, Broken Bow Fire responded to a call for a house fire between 4th and 5th Avenues on the south side of town. Fire and EMS Coordinator Andy Holland told KCNI/KBBN that 17 firefighters, a pumper, ladder truck, and rescue truck were on the scene. A Broken Bow ambulance was also present.
Holland said the fire began in in the attic on the north side of the house and was electrical in nature. Approximately $7,000 in damage was reported by Holland. No injuries were reported.
The fire was investigated by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal‘s office. Fire trucks were present on Highway 2, prompting the Nebraska State Patrol, Custer County Sheriff’s Office, and Broken Bow Police Department to assist with traffic control.

The April 6 fire marked the 17th fire for Broken Bow crews in 2018. Fire trucks returned to the station at 8:56 p.m.
