Economic Recovery, Storm Spotter Training Workshops Scheduled For Next Two Week’s

WAYNE – Plan on attending an economic recovery workshop later this week making sure your workplace is prepared.

There is no cost to attend the workshop slated for Friday, March 8 from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. held in the Frey Conference Suite on the campus of Wayne State College. The event is hosted by the Northeast Nebraska Planning, Exercise and Training Region in partnership with Wayne Area Economic Development.

Keynote speaker Greg Hollingsead – Protective Security Advisor of Nebraska will go over Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as well as a panel discussion with state, local and area business leaders.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday before Greg speaks at 10 a.m. Following a break at 11a.m. the afternoon will feature a panel discussion at 11:15 a.m.; lunch on your own; more from Greg at 1:30 p.m. and then determining what resources are needed to develop a recovery plan. The workshop will close around 3:30 p.m.

Participants are asked to bring a laptop or tablet to work on the plan electronically. There will be numerous resources available during the workshop to assist in reviewing and developing economic recovery plans for the workplace.

 

Also, a National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training is scheduled for Thursday, March 14. The workshop will be held at the Wayne Fire Hall located at 510 Tomar Drive and is open to the public starting at 7 p.m.
