Drunk Driver Leads Authorities on Chase

STANTON – A Norfolk man is in jail after leading authorities on a high-speed chase through two counties.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says 30-year old Douglas Hall was arrested Friday evening. Authorities were alerted to a reckless driver heading west on Highway 275 near Pilger.

Sheriff Unger says a deputy tried to stop the vehicle…but the driver…identified as Hall…took off…racing down the highway at speeds that reached well over 100 miles per hour.

Unger says Hall was able to avoid a tire deflation device…and made into Norfolk…where he lost control and crashed near the intersection with Highway 24.

Hall was arrested for D-W-I and a litany of other charges. Unger says this is Hall’s fifth D-W-I arrest.
