Drone Camp For Youth To Be Held In South Sioux City From July 9-13

SOUTH SIOUX – Youth in the tri-state area will be given the chance to learn about unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) drones throughout the week.

South Sioux City’s Northeast Nebraska Community College Extended Campus will host the drone camp from Monday, July 9 – Friday, July 13.

According to a release from NECC, this camp is a hands-on learning, innovation and adventure. Participants will build their own drone to keep, learn how to fly it and earn their Junior Pilot Wings at this one-of-a-kind event.

The camp will provide wonderful visuals and opportunities to speak with camp leaders and participants.

Half-day sessions will be featured where 30 students have filled both sessions. The morning session, for youth ages 9-11, will be held from 8 a.m. until noon as the afternoon session, for youth ages 9-14, will be held from 1 – 5 p.m.

On Friday, each camp session will have a “Pinning Ceremony,” where the participants will be presented their Junior Pilot Wings. The first will be at 11:30 a.m. and the second at 4:30 p.m. The Extended Campus is located at 1001 College Way in South Sioux City, next to Walmart.
