Dr. Michael White To Host Mid-January Film Presentations

WAYNE – Assistant professor at Wayne State College, Michael White is at it again with his latest film.

According to a release from Wayne State College, ‘The Queen of Pandora’s Box’ is the latest work for a three film retrospective. This film will premiere on Thursday, January 13 as the event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre in downtown Wayne. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. White teaches television and video production, electronic media and other mass communication courses at Wayne State College.

‘The Queen of Pandora’s Box’ follows an auspicious, young drag queen’s enlightenment of the sacrifices of past performers. Film collaborators include Martina Shakers, a drag performer from Sioux City, Iowa, and Shelby Hagerdon, a WSC alum from Sioux Falls, S.D. who studies film at Emerson College in Boston. The film’s directors are Dr. White, Hagerdon and WSC senior Ally Boyd of Papillion.

Cast members include The Shakers Drag Troupe from the tri-state area. The group will attend the premiere as their stage personas for a photo along with a question-and-answer session. Encore presentations of two other works by Dr. White, ‘The Ghost in Her’ and ‘A Day with Lily’, will also be shown.
