Developmental Disabilities Division Director To Host State-Wide ‘Let’s Talk’ Town Hall Listening Tour

LINCOLN – A state-wide ‘Let’s Talk’ town hall listening tour is scheduled for early November.

According to a release from the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the annual statewide “Let’s Talk” event will start in November.

Director, Tony Green plans to visit seven locations throughout the state of Nebraska. This tour is designed to gain stakeholder input on services provided by the Division and provide updates on future initiatives.

Officials with the Division of Developmental Disabilities stated nearly 12,000 Nebraskans who are aging and/or experiencing a disability are receiving long-term support through one of the Waiver programs. This is an opportunity to hear what’s working well and where there are opportunities for enhancements to their services and supports.

Any individual who would like to learn more about the Home and Community-Based Service Waivers for the developmentally disabled, aged and disabled, traumatic brain injury or pending family support waiver are encouraged to attend.

A northeast Nebraska stop will be on Thursday, November 10 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the DHHS conference room (110) in Norfolk located at 209 North 5th Street.
