PONCA – Make plans for a weekend trip to Ponca for the Days of ‘56 Rodeo.
The Barnes PRCA Rodeo is continuing the tradition which started in 1950 with two days of rodeo action on Friday and Saturday, June 25 – 26. This will mark the 53rd annual event in Ponca with performances starting at 7:30 p.m.
Friday night will feature ‘Tough Enough To Wear Pink” in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness and following Saturday night’s rodeo, stick around for the Clay Creek Deaf Cowboy Band. Animal scramble and arena races will be featured both nights.
A parade is also scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday with more information available by calling 402-755-4192. Rodeo Slack will begin at 9 a.m. and mutton bustin after the parade on Saturday.
A meet and greet with Heartland Docs, DVM will also be taking place each day.
The warm-up arena and contestant parking is just south of the rodeo grounds off Hwy 12.
