Dakota-Thurston County Fair, “Gather Your Herd”

SOUTH SIOUX CITY – The Dakota-Thurston County Fair has been going on since Tuesday and will be entering Thursday – Sunday with several great activities “Fun for the Whole Herd.”

The Fairgrounds are located at Atokad Park in South Sioux City, Nebraska as this year’s theme is “Gather Your Herd”.

Thursday night entertainment will feature the “Tri-State Shootout” Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. Prior to that view the Parade down Dakota Avenue starting at 6 p.m.

Friday night will begin with Impact Pro Wrestling from 7 – 9 p.m. as Dueling Pianos will follow from 9 – 11 p.m. Cost for Laser Tag will be $5 from 9:30 – 11 p.m. Fees are $10 for adults, kids 6 – 12 are $5 and those five and under are free. Also, half price entries will be accepted into Dueling Pianos with paid entry into Impact Pro Wrestling.

A mud volleyball tournament will start at Noon on Saturday with the evening highlighted by a Mexican Style Bull Ride at 4:30 p.m. as the gates open at 2 p.m. The Kids Ranch Rodeo will last from 4 – 5:30 p.m. and Mutton Bustin’ between 6 – 7 p.m.

Advance Fees were $25 and at the gate it’s $35.

Sunday will be all about the animals with an Open Horse Show slated for 8 a.m. and a 4-H Family Livestock Judging Contest at 10 a.m. NBHA Barrel Racing will hold a free event at 1 p.m. as a free Garden Tractor Pull event will last from 1 – 4 p.m.
