WAYNE – With tax season starting later this month, an accounting firm of 29 years in five locations opened their doors in Wayne Friday.
Community members joined Cruise & Associates during the Friday morning chamber coffee event hosted by Wayne Area Economic Development. The accounting firm moved into the 104 West 2nd Street location, formerly Kathol and Associates PC.
Rob Cruise is the president and said they are a full-service accounting firm.
“In each of our offices we have a full-time accountant,” said Cruise. “So, every office is year-round, Monday through Friday or as needed after that.”
In Wayne, Cruise & Associates would have one full-time and a part-time employee year-round while Wayne State College interns will assist during tax season.
The nation’s tax season for individual tax return filers will start on Monday, January 27 with the deadline to file 2019 tax returns and pay any tax owed is Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Cruise & Associates also offers a free initial consultation to sit down and meet with community members.
“At that free initial consultation, one our professionals will sit down with you for about an hour,” Cruise added. “We can review all your stuff and talk back and forth. And at the end if you feel comfortable, we look forward to doing business with you.”
There was a ribbon cutting event officially welcoming Cruise & Associates to the community of Wayne as an open house was also scheduled through 3:30 p.m. Friday.
