COVID-19 Weekend Results In NNPHD Health District

WAYNE – A pair of deaths were reported along with 15 COVID-19 positives in the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Health District over the weekend.

According to a release from NNPHD, the new patients were five from Dixon and 10 from Thurston county being eight females and seven males. Ages included under the age of 10, 10-19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s.

The two deaths were confirmed Friday for a child and also an adult in their 20s both with underlying health conditions. This brings the totals of deaths in the NNPHD Health District to six.

As of Sunday afternoon, there have been 1,236 COVID-19 tests reported for people living in the NNPHD Health District of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties. The results of these tests are 225 positive cases (Cedar – 8, Dixon – 43, Thurston – 148 and Wayne county – 26), 971 negatives and 40 tests currently pending results.

As far as any cases, when NNPHD releases someone from isolation the health department no longer follows them to see how they are doing as the report from the health department does not include number of hospitalizations or recoveries.
