County Funded/UNL Extension Assistant Employee Update, Emergency Management Seeking Equipment Approval For Gator

WAYNE – A series of items will be addressed during the regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, March 15.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the meeting will begin at 9 a.m.

UNL Extension Educator, Amy Topp will bring forth information on the county funded/University of Nebraska Extension Assistant employee as well as the ‘Connect the Dots’ career exploration program.

Tammy Paustian, Wayne County Treasurer, will also update the board on delinquent real estate tax sale returns. There were eight parcels sold for a total of $28, 181.62 in taxes.

Wayne County Emergency Manager, Nic Kemnitz will also go over several topics. Severe Weather Awareness Week is next week as Kemnitz will also update the board on Avian Influenza, COVID test kits and go over a review of quotes and seek approval for a purchase and installation of emergency lights, siren and public address system on the emergency management gator.

Mark Casey, Highway Superintendent will then provide more updates starting with the approval to sign a County Bridge Match Program (CBMP) agreement along with adopting the resolution for the agreement. Casey will also update the commissioners on truck specs seeking permission to publish a ‘Notice to Bidders’ for an April 5 bid opening.

County office updates and reports will close out Tuesday morning’s Board of Commissioners meeting.
