Council To Take Action On Revolving Loan Fund, WAED To Make Annual Requests

WAYNE – To open the month of October, the Wayne City Council will hold their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, October 1 at 5:30 p.m.

From the council chambers in the City Hall, members will look to take action on the recommendation from the LB840 Revolving Loan Fund Review Committee. This revolving loan fund application would be for the Wayne Area Economic Development program by Ace Hardware & Home for $200,000 to be used for start-up costs associated with opening an Ace Store in Wayne along with purchasing inventory tailored to the Wayne market. Ace Hardware & Home would be located in the old Shopko store.

Annual request items from WAED will also be on the council agenda. The Christmas on Main Celebration/Annual Parade of Lights is scheduled for Thursday, November 21 and WAED is requesting for Temporary Use of the State Highway System (Hwy 15) for Special Events. The request of prohibit parking in the 200 block from 5:30 – 8 p.m. that same night will also be heard.

Councilmembers will look to reaffirm JEO Consulting Group, Inc. as the Project Engineer and approve the plans, specifications and estimate of cost for the “Transmission Water Main from North Well Field to City Limits Project”. The city clerk will also be authorized to advertise for bids and the submittal of the plans and specifications to the Department of Health and Human Services.
