Council To Discuss Pool Opening, Hear Update On COVID-19 Impact To Area Businesses

WAYNE – For the second time in the month of June, the Wayne City Council will meet in-person at the Fire Hall located at 510 Tomar Drive at 5:30 p.m.

Council will first open with a presentation by Northeast Nebraska Insurance Agency for Dividend Check from Employers Mutual Company followed by an updated on the COVID-19 pandemic. Luke Virgil with the Wayne Area Economic Development will provide an assessment of COVID-19 impact and report on area businesses.

Councilmembers will then go into more discussion about the city pool opening along with rules and fees.

Council will also take action on contractor’s application for payment No. 2 in the amount of $1,006,.710.72 for the “2019 Water Transmission Main Project” along with payment No. 4 in the amount of $365,602.75 for the “2019 Nebraska Street Improvement Project”.

Another action item that is for work completed and approved by the project engineer will be an application and certificate of payment No. 2 in the amount of $564,102.45 for the “Restoration of Walking Trail Project”.
