PIERCE – It’ll now be an entire year before residents in a northeast Nebraska county will see bridge construction.
According to a release from the Nebraska Department Transportation, the scheduled construction of Pierce East Levee Bridge has been delayed from fall of 2019 to fall of 2020.
The bridge is located to the east of the city of Pierce over the North Fork of the Elkhorn River in Pierce County.
A designated detour would be required to facilitate bridge work for the duration of the construction and would utilize U.S. Highway 81 and Nebraska Highway 13.
Road officials have worked to develop this project to minimize inconvenience and hardships. The department is dedicated to improving the state’s highway system and thanks the traveling public for their support.
