O’NEILL- The town of O’Neill is still struggling to move forward from the ICE raids in August.

A tomato greenhouse and potato processing facility in O’Neill was among the businesses raided by immigration authorities, a raid that emotionally shook the entire community.

In total, 133 workers were arrested as part of the operation.

The investigation targeted alleged labor exploitation while also netting undocumented workers.

O’Neill resident Bryan Corkle organized an informational meeting Monday night. He explained the impact this had on families.
The goal of the gathering was to provide insight into how the current immigration system works and the realities facing immigration.
Attendees also heard from an economic development leader who explained how immigration affects local economies and spoke about immigration laws.
Organizers say this was an educational event. Attendees were informed how to call to take congressional action and were given a hotline to help those who may need legal advice.
