Community Raises More Money Than Last Year During Foundation Fundraiser

WAYNE – Prior to a defensive battle and two late rushing touchdowns featuring a Wayne High win last Friday night, fans were able to get their fix of food during the Fifth annual Taste of Victory Tailgate.

The event on Friday, September 7 was hosted by Wayne Area Economic Development and Wayne Community Schools Foundation.

With fan votes coming from a ticket and free will donations accepted, $1,385 was raised for the Wayne Community Schools Foundation.

Last Fall, a check worth $1,326 was presented to the Foundation.

Brandon Hall and Justin Davis with Rath, Walling & Associates as well as Ameriprise Financial were the winning chefs earning $50 in Chamber Bucks as the People’s Choice winners.

Other chefs were M&M Molly Redden and Michelle Nelson; Michelle Virgil with Wayne Area Economic Development; Emilie Osten with F&M Bank; Corby Schweers with Elkhorn Valley Bank; Karissa Hays with Providence Medical Center as well as Rick and Sandra Gathje with Tacos & More.

WAED and the Community Schools Foundation would like to thank all who supported the Fifth annual Taste of Victory Tailgate.
