Community Activity Center To Loosen Restrictions Monday, Pool To Open July 1

WAYNE – Visitors of the Wayne Community Activity Center and Aquatic Center received good news entering the weekend.

According to a release from the CAC, beginning Monday, June 29 the Activity Center will offer 24-hour access and with staff not being able to monitor all the time it will be up to the member’s responsibility to sanitize.

Also beginning Monday, normal hours will switch to 5:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturday’s and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday’s.

The pool will open on Wednesday, July 1. Once open, lap swim weekday times will be from noon until 12:45 p.m. and 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. and open swim between 1 – 5 p.m. Lap swim will also be available from noon until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday’s with open swim from 1 – 5 p.m. and 6:30 – 9 p.m. on the weekends (Sat/Sun).

Breaks will still be the final 10 minutes with lifeguards sanitizing in-between.

The CAC is also offering financial aid and all passes are half price. Pool season pass for a family is $62.50 and for a family + 1 is $82.50. Individual passes are $42.50 and day passes are $3 for ages three and up. Those who would like to swim do not have to be residents of Wayne or within the Wayne School District.

When entering the guard house, faculty will take name, address, phone number as well as the number of people in your party in case there are any cases at the pool.

The maximum capacity under the current Directed Health Measure (DHM) allows for 225 guests which includes parents or guests not swimming. Attendees are welcome on a first come, first serve basis.

There will be no requirements to sign up for a time slot in the weight room as each individual must check in at the front desk with a normal scanning device upon arrival. Patrons will be expected to abide by the six-foot distancing guidelines at all time as spotting is still not permitted.

For gym-use, each hoop will be limited to one person or family. No pick up or any group basketball will be allowed at this time as all basketballs must be checked out from the front desk. No outside equipment will be allowed in.

Also, for group classes, call the CAC to reserve a time as each class will have an eight-person limit.
