Commissioners To Work On Budget, Review Preliminary Tax Dollar Requests & Adopt Allocation Resolutions

WAYNE – After rescheduling the budget work session until the first meeting in August, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners will hold their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.

From the Public Safety Annex, members with the Wayne County Fair Board will be in attendance discussing their 2020-21 budget and tax dollar request. The board will also review preliminary tax dollar requests and adopt allocation resolutions from the Wayne County Ag Society General Fund; Wayne County Library Association; Carroll Rural Fire Protection District No. 1; Wayne Rural Fire District No. 2; Hoskins Rural Fire District No. 3; Winside Rural Fire District No. 4 and Wakefield Rural Fire District No. 5.

Next on the agenda will pertain to courthouse maintenance. Commissioners will hear more on a quote for the chiller replacement as well as roof repairs on a courthouse lean-to.

Highway superintendent, Mark Casey will provide road and bridge project updates along with wind energy updates. He’ll also talk about bidding out to replace a skid loader.

Nick Coil with Tradewind Energy will be in attendance for a 9:45 a.m. appointment. The board will look to approve Haystack’s Road Maintenance Agreement. Doug Elting with Berggren Architects will also be on hand to provide updates on the courthouse restoration project.

Following a break for executive session on personnel, Wayne County Commissioners will work on their budget before recessing until Wednesday, August 5 at 9 a.m.
