WAYNE – Following another executive order from Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts to allow meetings to be conducted virtually, the regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting will be conducted online Tuesday.
The board will first open their Equalization meeting from the Public Safety Annex at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15. The group will look to approve corrections to a personal property tax list.

Moving into the Board of Commissioners meeting, action will be taken on resolution No. 20-23 in designating the county fund depositories for 2021. Other action items include authorizing the county treasurer to invest and reinvest county funds, a government bid purchase of a pickup for district #2 as well as payment of principal, interest and paying agent fee for Highway Allocation Fund Pledge Bonds for Series 2014, 2015 and 2019.
Commissioners will also review the specifications for a new motor grader for district #3 before hearing more about the courthouse restoration project.
Nic Kemnitz, Wayne County Emergency Manager will provide COVID-19 updates along with more updates as the representative of Wayne County at the NACO meeting.
Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey is seeking the chairman to sign the NE Department of Transportation Year-End Certification of County Highway Superintendent. He’ll also bring forward updates on roads/bridges as well as wind energy projects along with reviewing and going over the requested hill cut requirements on county roads proposed by Haystack Wind and Blattner Energy.
