WAYNE – There wasn’t too much to talk about besides looking ahead to the future during Tuesday morning’s regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting.
From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the board meeting lasted roughly 22 minutes.
Towards the end of the meeting each commissioner went over their goals and what they would like to see happen in the county in the future. All agreed on they’ll need to stay active on road and bridge projects.
After finishing up on the exterior of the courthouse, the commissioners would like to focus on the interior which includes addressing the security situation.
The board will also be going out for bid to replace the narrow sidewalk by the sheriff’s office and look at getting rid of the rock around the building. The width would be 7-foot to match the other sidewalks. Commissioners will also look at adding cement to the corners of the courthouse property.
Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey provided the Plan of the Day (POD) from Blattner Energy for the Haystack Wind Energy project. These updates will be sent to each commissioner letting them know where the group will be and when they’ll be working on what sites. Roughly 175 people are working on this project ranging from 9 – 10 different contractors.
Snyder has also certified wind farm driveways from the Sholes project but the wind energy company has left out a half of a dozen that still had issues.
The next regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 18 at 9 a.m.
