Commercial Alley Paving Cost-Share Program, Public Hearing For CDBG Budget Amendment On Council Agenda

WAYNE – City councilmembers in Wayne will be meeting for the first of two times to address their regularly scheduled October agenda beginning Tuesday evening.

From the council chambers inside the City Hall, the meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a pair of action items for Wayne Volunteer Fire Department Applications. One being a cadet membership and another membership.

The director of Business Development for Utility Service Partners, Inc. Ashley Shiwarski will  then present to the council.

Council will also hear from Matthew Ley, CEO of State Nebraska Bank & Trust who is requesting to participate in the Commercial Alley Paving Cost-Share Program. SNB is looking to pave their alley located behind their new branch facility at the corner of 10th and Main Street. This cost-share program was established for paving alleys in areas zoned for commercial use in the City of Wayne.

A public hearing is scheduled to obtain public input on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Wayne 2018 Pedestrian Curb Ramp Project. Of the $350,000 awarded to the City of Wayne, $285,554.53 has been used for the installation of approximately 175 ADA ramps at pedestrian crossings, general administration and construction management. All CDBG funds will benefit low-to-moderate income persons in the community as no persons will be displaced as a result of this project.

A pair of resolution items will close out the meeting of accepting and awarding a bid contract on the “Senior Center Freezer/Pantry Storage Addition Project” and authorizing the purchase of a 2019 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan as per the Bid Proposal received from Arnie’s Ford.
