City Of Wayne Operations Plan To Be Adopted, Ordinances To See Action

Wayne – The City of Wayne will host their regularly scheduled city council meeting Tuesday evening to adopt a plan along with several ordinances to be heard.

From the City Hall, councilmembers will open their meeting at 5:30 p.m. A resolution item is set to be adopted through the City of Wayne Operations Plan for Disaster Response and Recovery.

The plan is a section of the Wayne County Local Emergency Operations Plan (LEOP) which needs to be updated every five years. Its last renewal was in 2013. Each Department Head was sent the attachment to review. Wayne County Emergency Manager, Nic Kemnitz also went over the plan and made a couple changes for locations of the Emergency Manager Operations Center, adding the Wayne Fire Hall.

The Wayne Operations Plan will be in place for responsibilities of the City of Wayne Elected Officials and City Departments in the event of a disaster for response and recovery efforts.

Two Wayne Municipal Code Title Traffic Codes will be amended as well as a real estate in Southview III Addition to be annexed and a Transmission Substation Service Agreement to be approved. The agreement will be between the Nebraska Public Power District and the City of Wayne.

Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne is requesting to block off 10th Street from Logan Street to Main Street along the Willow Bowl. They’ll be hosting a Sunday School Rally Day Festival on September 9 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Grace Lutheran Church will provide the necessary Certificate of Insurance which is required when blocking off a street.

Councilmembers will also take action on a pay estimate and pay application along with holding a budget work session.
