WAYNE – Wayne Area Economic Development officials are excited to present ‘Christmas in Wayne: A White Christmas’ in just over a week.
According to a release, with the holiday season approaching, residents are invited on Thursday, November 17 to downtown Wayne.
Businesses are encouraged to participate in a ‘Windows Decorating Contest’ with judging taking place during ‘Christmas in Wayne’ on November 17.
Those interested can register below to sign up by Monday, November 14. This event is open to all Wayne businesses with prizes being provided by KTCH/KCTY and The Wayne Herald.
The Parade of Lights will begin at 6:30 p.m. on November 17. This year’s route will be along Main Street from 6th to 1st Street with the line-up beginning at West 6th Street between Pearl and Lincoln Streets.
Pre-registration is appreciated but not required. WAED officials ask that there be no conflicting live Santa’s in the parade. The Santa will be hosted by Wayne Area Economic Development and lead the parade.
November 17 is also the start of the WAED Holiday Stamp Card Promotion. Businesses who are interested in participating on the Holiday Stamp Card, are advised to contact the office by Thursday, November 10.
The cost to participate is $50 for WAED members and $150 for nonmembers. Each card represents $200 in purchases as $700 in Chamber Bucks will be given away to shoppers.
Three names will be drawn each week at Chamber Coffees beginning December 2 for $50 each with a final drawing for two $200 winners on December 16.
