PONCA – The second weekend of ‘Christmas in the Woods’ continues on Saturday, December 14 at Ponca State Park.
According to a release from Ponca State Park, open Saturday morning by making icicle ornaments at 9:30 a.m. Join a park naturalist as the group will explore the forms of water and decorate their own icicles. Meet at the Resource and Education Center as cost is $1 for three icicles and is limited to 30 participants.
Then at 11 a.m., a more tasty treat will feature a ‘cupcake decorations’ event. Create warm memories in the cold of winter by decorating your own holiday cupcakes as there are a limit of 30 cupcakes at the Resource and Education Center.
Moving into the afternoon at 2:30 p.m., make your own picture perfect constellation. The Geminids meteor shower will be peaking on December 13-14 displaying 120 meteors per hour. Meet at the Resource and Education Center to create a picture perfect constellation from water colors and paint flecks as cost is $1 per painting.
Closing out Saturday evening will be lighted hayrack rides at 4:30 p.m. Pre-register for this free event at the Resource and Education Center.
Also, throughout the day, kids can pick up a snowman ornament at the front desk and create their own snowman craft. Supplies are limited as cost is 50 cents per craft.
The final ‘Christmas in the Woods’ will be held on Saturday, December 21 before the final Saturday (December 28) will mark the Eighth annual Winterfest event.
