PONCA – Saturday, December 1 will kick off Christmas in the Woods at Ponca State Park with activities beginning at 9:30 a.m. Make a “Wintertime Friend” at the Resource and Education Center that will help measure snowfall for this upcoming season. Cost is $1 and there is a limit of 30 total crafts.

At 11:30 a.m. join in on the festive cupcake decorating at the Resource and Education Center. This is a free event with a limit of 30 cupcakes.

From 1-2 p.m. grab your friends and family and take a Winter Wonderland photo at the Resource and Education Center. Winter props and costumes will be available. The photographer will email photos via wetranser.com. This is a free activity.

At 3 p.m. meet at the Resource and Education Center to participate in making wildlife treats. Make animal friendly treats to take home and decorate outside trees with. Squirrel cookies, pinecone snacks, and birdseed bundt cakes will be made. Cost is $1 per pinecone and cookie sheet.

Should there be snowy conditions, visit the front desk at the Resource and Education Center to learn about Ponca State Park’s snowman building contest and other winter related outdoor activities.
