WAYNE – An upcoming child safety seat check is scheduled for Thursday, September 19.

According to a post from the Wayne Police Department – Government Facebook page, the PD will host the event in conjunction with the Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP) and Providence Medical Center (PMC).

On Thursday the Child Safety Seat Check Up event will last from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Wayne Fire Hall located at 510 Tomar Drive.

This free event is meant to inspect child safety seats while educating parents on proper installation and use.

Crashes are the leading cause of death for children in the United States. In most cases, these injuries and deaths can be prevented. Many of these injuries and deaths occur as a result of the high misuse rate of child safety seats, booster seats and seat belts.
