WAYNE – For the second time in the month of April, members of the Wayne City Council will hold their regularly scheduled meeting.
From the council chambers in City Hall, the meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 with an update and report.
Sandy Brown with the Wayne Green Team will provide the annual update with Earth Day approaching this Friday, April 22. Lowell Heggemeyer, Park and Recreation Director will follow with the Park and Recreation Department report.
The 42nd annual Wayne Chicken Show will be Friday, July 8 – Sunday, July 10 and the Wayne Chicken Show Committee will be making several requests regarding street closures.
Street closures will be highlighted during the meeting for the annual Henoween Celebration along Main Street on July 8; Bressler Park intersections, Wayne Kiwanis omelet feed and parade on July 9 as well as the Crowing Motors Car Show on July 10.
Council will also need to acknowledge requirements for the temporary use of the State Highway System for special events of Henoween and Chicken Show from July 8 – 10. Another action item will be seeking approval for a firework ndisplay on July 8 on the rugby fields by the Wayne Softball Complex.
Councilmembers will then close out the meeting by amending the Problem Resolution Team (PRT) ‘complaint process. The changes to the complaint process were presented during the March 29 Wayne City Council retreat. If approved, the effective date would be June 1, 2022.
