WAYNE – Council is back in session for their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 16 at 5:30 p.m.
From the council chambers inside the City Hall, Wayne City Council will go over an early agenda item pertaining to the Nebraska Control Commission Manager Application. Council may either approve, deny or make no local recommendation on the same from the Cobblestone Hotel in Wayne having changed Managers.
Rusty Parker will then provide an update on the golf course clubhouse improvement project.
With the Chicken Show approaching in mid-July, assistant director at WAED Irene Fletcher Mock will be in attendance talking street closures on Friday, July 12 – Sunday, July 14. Councilmembers will also take action to approve a fireworks display on July 12 for the Henoween Celebration on the rugby fields by the Wayne Softball Complex.
On April 9, the City of Wayne received a bid for the “2019 Nebraska Street Improvement Project”. Jon Mooberry, JEO Consulting Group, INC., the engineer on this project will attend Tuesday’s meeting and give a recommendation at that time.
Towards the end of the meeting, councilmembers will hold discussion regarding the Standard Specifications for Construction of Water, Sewer, Strom Sewer and Paving. The original standard specification book was completed in 1979 before being reviewed last in 2001. The City of Wayne did submit the book to two local contractors for review but have not heard back from either one. The book will be reviewed in sections with Articles 1-15 being included in the council packet.
