The parade entry form was due by end of day Wednesday with the parade itself to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13. A parade lineup will be posted at www.chickenshow.com no sooner than Wednesday, July 10. A new event will be the Chicken Cook Off held at noon on Saturday, July 13 at Bressler Park, according to marketing, events and tourism coordinator Abby Schademann.

“You cook your dish off-site,” said Schademann. “You can bring a 9X13 pan, just a very small recipe. Just enough for 3-5 judges and sample sizes for tasting later.”

The Wayne Chicken Show Committee is looking for participants to show off their chicken cooking skills. There is no cost to participate as entries must be at the southwest park shelter around 11:30 a.m. in order to set up for the event.

Prizes will be awarded for categories of best appetizer, best casserole, most unique dish and tastiest main/unique chicken dish. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Electricity will be provided to keep food hot (if needed) as category winners will also have their recipe featured in the Wayne Chicken Show’s upcoming cookbook.
