Chamber Coffee To Feature Ribbon Cutting For Accounting Firm, Open House Scheduled 9 AM – 3:30 PM Friday

WAYNE – An accounting firm who has been around for nearly three decades will be opening an office in Wayne.

Cruise & Associates is based out of Columbus, Nebraska and will be opening their doors to the Wayne area this weekend during Friday morning chamber coffee on January 17 at 10 a.m.

President of the firm, Rob Cruise is a Wayne State graduate and said he’s always liked the community.

“Over the years, driving through it, I’ve just noticed all the growth and it seems very progressive,” said Cruise. “It was always welcoming…So, about two years ago, Max (Kathol) and I started talking and he said ‘are you interested in Wayne’ and I said ‘yeah’. So, it just kind of progressed from there.”

Cruise & Associates has been in business for 29 years with offices in Columbus (main), Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island and Albion.

The five core areas of the company are income tax, accounting department, advisory services, financial services and IRS representation services.

Cruise and Associates will be moving into the building formerly housed by Kathol & Associates located at 104 West 2nd Street.

“So, when we bought out the accounting firm, we just bought the building at the same time,” Cruise added. “Wayne has a beautiful downtown (and) the office has been there for a long time, so my plan was to continue it to be there.”

Along with Friday morning chamber coffee beginning at 10 a.m., a ribbon cutting will be held in the morning with an open house also being scheduled from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Friday.
