Chamber Coffee Hosted at Ekeko Blends

WAYNE – Community members enjoyed coffee and tea at Ekeko Blends during Chamber Coffee Friday morning.

The Wayne business is located on Main Street and owned by Dr. Mytzy Rodriguez-Kufner.

Rodriguez-Kufner runs the shop with the help one other employee. While the small business is known for its namesake cold-pressed beverages, Ekeko offers dining and shopping options as well.

“We serve Peruvian-inspired or infused dishes, so typically from the mountainous area of Peru,” Rodriguez-Kufner said.

Ekeko’s hours have changed recently and Rodriguez-Kufner said she draws from her background as a teacher to adapt and find the best times to serve juice enthusiasts and foodies alike.

“In terms of hours for this year I’m pretty much set at from 11 until 5 Tuesday through Thursday and then being open a little bit later on Friday’s and Saturdays from 11 until 8 o’clock at night, Rodriguez-Kufner said.

She added that Ekeko can host personal events on Sundays and Mondays when the business is closed.

For those looking to grab a deal, Rodriguez-Kufner said customer appreciation week at Ekeko has been extended to Wednesday, February 26. Now though then, shoppers can enjoy a 10-percent discount on everything in the store.

Rodriguez-Kufner said Don Duffy was drawn as the winner of a $50 gift certificate in Ekeko’s latest raffle drawing. Chamber Coffee is put on by the Wayne Area Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce (WAED) and open to the public.

The next Chamber Coffee will be hosted by the WAED at AquaPop on Main Street in Wayne on Friday, February 28.
