Care Packages Sent To Relocated Nursing Home Residents

NORFOLK – Neighbor to neighbor. Resident to resident. You haven’t been forgotten. That’s the message that residents at Heritage of Bel-Air want to convey with their latest Good Neighbor Mission Project.

Residents fashioned 50 care packages Wednesday to be delivered to the Premier Estates residents and staff that were displaced due to flooding in Pierce. Premier Estates residents were evacuated March 13 and are currently residing at the former Norfolk Care & Rehab Center.

“It’s been a few months since they were displaced and we just wanted to let them know we still think about them and care for them,” said Gloria Nielsen of Heritage of Bel-Air.

The care packages contained Kleenex, candy and crackers along with a note of encouragement.

As part of the activity, residents also talked about different neighborhoods they’ve lived in and what it means to be a good neighbor.
