Camp Invention: Supercharged Coming To Wayne This Summer

WAYNE – Discounts for a summer camp hosted at the Wayne Jr/Sr High School are still available until the end of this week.

Camp Invention, a nationally recognized nonprofit summer enrichment camp program, will last from June 10 – 14 and is made for children entering grades first through sixth.

According to a release from the National Inventors Hall of Fame, who in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, is offering Camp Invention to challenge children to find their “inner inventor” by learning the process of innovation.

Camp Invention: Supercharged is a high-energy, hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) camp. Youth will work hands-on, build confidence, leadership, perseverance, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills along with encouraging entrepreneurship in a fun and engaging environment.

By registering before Friday, March 22, campers can save $25 using promo code A25CAMPEVENT on www.invent.org/camp or by calling 800-968-4332. Cost for the camp is $230 and will last from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day.

Each year, the program features a new curriculum inspired by some of the nation’s most world-changing inventors — the NIHF Inductees. This year’s Supercharged™ curriculum features several video challenges from these Inductees encouraging children to be confident in their ideas and explore their innovativeness.

These hands-on activities include: Innovation Force, Deep Sea Mystery, Farm Tech and DIY Orbot. At the end of the program, each camper will bring home a robot. Camp Invention serves 130,000 students every year and partners with more than 1,800 schools and districts across the nation.
