Tazalea Scott sings during the Third Thursday event in the Broken Bow City Square on July 12.

BROKEN BOW–The talented Tazalea Scott performed live music this week during the Broken Bow Third Thursday event. She sang a variety of country songs as well as some originals. Kash Petersen accompanied Scott on guitar as “Tazy Q’s” voice filled the square.

Scott is originally from the Westerville area and graduated from Ansley in 2011. She has two young children and has been singing since age three. Over the last few years she has started to play live events such as weddings, funerals, and competitions such as the Nebraska State Fair Galaxy of the Stars.

“I am from Westerville, Nebraska so it’s about 15 minutes east of here–tiny little town. If you blink you’ll miss it. I have two beautiful children. I have a little girl and a little boy,” Scott said.

With the support of her family, Tazy Q will embark on a new journey in her singing career. “I am actually going to Utah this weekend to audition for the Voice. I’m not going to get my hopes up but we’re hoping for the best,” she said.

As Custer County residents, we wish Tazy Q lots of luck on her audition. This is the first audition of a series of rounds to make it to the live auditions. If she happens to make it to the live auditions and Blake Shelton turned around, she said she would definitely be on Blake’s team.

As for playing in Broken Bow, Scott said she appreciated the opportunity to play during Third Thursday. “It was amazing. I was so happy Deb [Deb Kennedy with the Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce] asked me. I was ecstatic. It was just big for me, I just appreciate her so much for letting me do that,” Scott said.

Good luck Tazalea from all of us in Custer County!
