Board Of Equalization To Host Public Hearing, Updates To Be Presented During Board Of Commissioners

WAYNE – Both the Wayne County Board of Equalization and Commissioners will plan on meeting on Tuesday, October 19.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the Board of Equalization will hold a public hearing early in their meeting starting at 9 a.m.

This public hearing is to review the property tax exemption for real and personal property previously allowed for the First Baptist Church of Wayne. After reconvening, the board will take action on taxable status of lots 7, 8, 9 and 10 on block 8, Crawford & Browns Addition to the City of Wayne. This property was sold by the First Baptist Church of Wayne on October 1.

Moving into the regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners meeting around 9:05 a.m., Wayne County Emergency Manager Nick Kemnitz will provide an update on the Incident Management Team and Mutual Aid.

Highway Superintendent Mark Casey will also address the board with road and bridge updates as well as a new round of County Bridge Match Program (CBMP) applications.

Commissioners will close out Tuesday mornings meeting by designating individuals to cast ballots for the election of officers at the 2021 NACO convention in December.
