Board Of Equalization Seeking Several Approvals; Board Of Commissioners To Act On Lodging Tax Grant Applications

WAYNE – Both Wayne County Board of Equalization and Board of Commissioner meetings will be held Tuesday morning.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the Board of Equalization will begin at 9 a.m.

Approval items include the three-year assessment plans, cemetery property ownership and usage report; personal property tax correction as well as over and under valued property report from county assessor, Dawn Duffy.

Moving into the Commissioners meeting, Ignacio Gonzalez with the North Fork Area Transit will be putting in a request. The transit is looking at the possibility of setting up a route into Wayne County including the City of Wayne and surrounding area.

A trio of action items will follow for Lodging Tax Grant Application recommendations from the Wayne County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau Committee. They include $500 for advertising of Cars-N-Carroll Vendor/Craft Show scheduled for September 25; $500 for advertising of Gene Topp Memorial Car Show from June 19 and $1,000 for advertising of Bressler-Fest Music in the Park Series.

Wayne County Board of Commissioners will conclude with a request of rental agreement for ATVs and golf carts for use at the Wayne County Fair.

The board will then recess until Wednesday, July 20 at 1 p.m. to host a Navigator CO2 Pipeline Information meeting.
