In January of 2020, Carlson West Povondra Architects completed the Master Facility Study and presented results to the school board. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that began in March of 2020, the school board suspended work on the facility plan.

In the fall of 2021, the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education engaged in a comprehensive strategic planning process that involved stakeholder feedback from patrons of the community. Through this process, the board identified district resources and facilities as a top priority moving forward.

During the regularly scheduled March 14 school board meeting, the board directed Dr. Lenihan to hold a community meeting to review the 2019 strategic plan and seek community feedback.

All patrons of the community are invited to attend the Tuesday, March 29 special Board of Education meeting at 6:30 p.m. from the Wayne Jr/Sr High School gymnasium. Bob Soukup, architect will present before there’ll be small group discussion followed by large group feedback.

Other agenda items include filling the ELL teacher position along with resignations being addressed.
