WAYNE – Members with the Board of Education at Wayne Community Schools will hold their regularly scheduled meeting tonight from the Wayne Jr/Sr High School Conference Room.
Half of the board will first meet at 4:30 p.m. today to review their financial claims in the superintendent’s office (611 West 7th Street).
Moving into the regular agenda at 5 p.m. a new business item will hear second reading information on Policy 8342, designated method of giving notice of meetings. The board will give advance notice of meetings by publishing such notice in a newspaper of general circulation within the District’s jurisdiction and, if available, on such website.
The Wayne Community Schools Board of Education may also give advance notice of meetings by posting in at least three public places throughout the school district with two days advance notice be considered sufficient. If there would be an emergency meeting, notice shall not be required to be given but the board will need to complete minutes for an emergency meeting as required by law.
Board members will also take action on a snow removal bid along with a refuse bid.
The National School Boards of Association (NSBA) Dues will then be brought forward. The cost for the 2021 January National Connection enrollment category is $975 which is good until December 31, 2021.
Other new business items include a technology quote for digital displays and a COVID-19 update.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Lenihan will report on option enrollment students for 2020-21. A short and long range facility plan will be brought forward along with a parking lot update during the facility portion of the meeting.
