Board Of Commissioners To Meet Tuesday Morning

WAYNE – A couple bids for a skid loader and motor-grader will take place during the regularly scheduled Wayne County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, October 6.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the Wayne County Board of Equalization will open the morning at 9 a.m. The board will look to approve a correction due to change on a 2017 homestead and set tax rates for the 2020-21 fiscal year.

Moving into the Commissioners meeting at 9:05 Tuesday morning, the group will hear from Steve Muir with Elkhorn Valley Insurance on a United Health Care Health Insurance Premium Rebate for Year 2019.

Wayne County Emergency Manager, Nic Kemnitz along with Highway Superintendent, Mark Casey will both provide updates. Other items of business that Kemnitz will bring forward include approving the purchase of small inverter generators to run the salamander tracking system; decide how to handle insurance settlement for the portable communications tower along with delegating PPE delivery & tracking responsibilities while out for jury duty.

The skid loader bid opening is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. along with the motor-grader bids at 10 a.m.

County Commissioners will look to take action on Resolution No. 20-21 directing the county attorney to foreclose the delinquent tax lien on Tax Sale Certificate No. 73. Doug Elting with Berggren Architects will also provide an update on the courthouse restoration project.
