Blue Devil Speech Schedule Released, Three Speech Camps Slated For Winter Months

WAYNE – An updated Wayne High speech schedule was announced for the 2019-20 season.

According to a release from Dwaine Spieker, high school speech coach, there were some changes to the original schedule that was posted about a month ago.

Three speech camps will take place from 8 until 11 a.m. at Wayne high school on November 23, December 14 and January 11.

The season officially gets underway on January 18 with the Pierce Invite; followed by the Boone Central Invite on January 25 and the Hartington/HCC Invite on February 1.

Highlighting the Blue Devil speech schedule will be the Second annual Wayne High/Wayne State Classic on February 8 at Wayne State College along with the District B-3 Tournament hosted by WHS and WSC on March 14.

Wayne High speech will also hold their Home Show on Friday, February 14. 2020 from the high school. Second half invites will be hosted by Wisner-Pilger (2/22); Battle Creek (2/29) and Norfolk High (3/7) leading up to the Mid State Conference Meet on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 on the Wayne State College campus.

State Speech for 2020 will take place in Kearney on the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus Thursday, March 26, 2020.

The snow date for the WHS/WSC Classic will be February 15.
