NORFOLK – After being crowned Mid State Conference champions in late February, the Wayne High speech team closed out their regular season schedule in preparation for Districts.
The Norfolk “Panther Classic” Invitational was held this past Saturday at Norfolk High School.
Among 42 schools and over 700 entries, Wayne High came away with a 15th place team finish.
Individually, the Duet Acting team of Jaci Torres and Sarah Wibben took fourth in the consolation finals, Jack Osnes finished sixth in the honors finals of Serious Prose and Megan Keiser came away with a fourth-place medal in the honors finals of Humorous Prose.
The Wayne High speech team will next compete in the District B-4 Tournament on Monday, March 12 from Columbus Lakeview. Other schools being represented include Arlington, Columbus Scotus, Douglas County West, Schuyler, Wahoo and West Point-Beemer.
State Speech will take place from Nebraska-Kearney on Thursday, March 22 for Classes A, B and C1 while Classes C2, D1 and D2 will compete on Friday, March 23.
