WAYNE – After competing on the road the past few weekends for speech competition, the Wayne High speech team hosted the Wayne High/Wayne State Classic this past Saturday.
As a team, Wayne High finished third and were only three points out of seven and seven points from first.
Wayne High also had one speech champion being Liam Spieker who placed first in Entertainment.
Other top results came from Isaac Davis, third in Extemporaneous; Ethan Tyson, third in Entertainment; Christopher Woerdemann, fifth in Extemporaneous; the Duet Acting Team of Christopher Woerdemann and Dylan Anderson, fifth; Easton Blecke, sixth in Serious Prose; Hannah Vick, sixth in Poetry; Ruben Vega, ninth in Persuasive and sixth in Extemporaneous; the Duet Acting team of Brooklyn Bierbower and Hannah Vick, tenth; Maiah Davis, eleventh in Persuasive and Extemporaneous; Kaden Hopkins, twelfth in Humorous Prose as well as the Oral Interpretation of Drama team of Christopher Rutenbeck, Orion Spieker, Brooklyn Bierbower, Kaden Hopkins and Easton Blecke, twelfth.
Next up for the Wayne High speech team will include their ‘Home Show’ from the Wayne Jr/Sr High School starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 12. The Wayne High speech team will resume competition on Saturday, February 20 during the Wisner-Pilger Speech Invite.
