WAYNE – Throughout the month of April, the Wayne High School power drive team will compete in four races.
According to a release from Skilled and Technical Sciences Teacher at Wayne Community Schools Tony Cantrell, the Blue Devil power drive season begins this weekend.
Two cars will be featured being an advance class car, A22 and exhibition class car E39. These student-designed and built cars will compete against other schools to see which car can travel the furthest using two car batteries for power.
The first power drive competition will be at Neligh Park in West Point on Saturday, April 2 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Other 2022 power drive race events will be on Saturday, April 9 at the UNL Tractor Test Laboratory in Lincoln at 11:30 a.m.; Saturday, April 23 at Motorsports Park in Hastings at 11 a.m. and Saturday, April 30 at 1100 East 10th Street (First National Bank Service Center parking lot) in Wayne at noon and 2 p.m. for the EVERON Power Drive Championships.
