WAYNE – After one of the Wayne Mock Trial teams advanced to a semifinal round earlier in the week, three more Blue Devil teams were in competition this week.
Back at the Madison County Courthouse in Madison, Wayne’s black, blue and purple teams were in action Wednesday.
Head mock trial coach, Josh Johnson said, “all teams competed extremely well but no team reached the semifinals of the regional competition.”
Wayne black dropped mock trial matches to Battle Creek and Lutheran High Northeast #1; Wayne blue lost to Lutheran High Northeast while defeating Wayne purple as Wayne purple lost to LHNE, Battle Creek and Wayne blue.
Earlier in the week, the Wayne High (red) mock trial team went 4-0 and will next compete in the semifinal round at a later date for a chance to advance to the Nebraska state mock trial competition.
According to the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, local and regional competition (eight-week period in 12 regions) is scheduled from October 1 – November 22. The regional winners will be announced on Monday, November 25 with state competition being held at the Justice and Law Enforcement Center in Lincoln on Saturday, December 9 – Sunday, December 10.
