Blue Devil Homecoming King, Queen Announced

WAYNE – As homecoming week continues in early September for Wayne Community Schools student’s, coronation was recently held.

From the Hahn Lecture Hall Wednesday evening, a king and queen were announced.

This year’s homecoming queen will be Kayla Fleming while Trevor DeBoer will be the king.

Along with Fleming and DeBoer, the homecoming court is made up of queen candidates: Hailey Backer, Erin O’Reilly, Frankie Klausen and Emily Armstrong while the king candidates are Tyrus Eischeid, Blake Bartos, Casey Koenig and Noah Lutt.

Wayne High will be hosting O’Neill during their homecoming football game on Friday, September 6 at 7 p.m. from Bob Cunningham Field on the campus of Wayne State College. Wayne High football parents also welcome all to a free will tailgate meal prior to the game starting at 5:45 p.m. From Memorial Stadium on the campus of Wayne State College, the free will offering meal will include pulled pork, mac and cheese and a dessert. Money raised will go towards the Wayne High football program.

The homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, September 7 at the Wayne State College Kanter Student Center.

Remaining dress up days for Wayne students include dress from any era (20s, 30s, 40s, etc) Thursday and then pjs or jersey day on Friday.

Also, parents and community members are invited to attend a 7-12 pep rally Friday morning from 8:20 – 9:30 a.m. at the Wayne High football field.
